I like leeks.
But when the container in the 'fridge is labelled "chocolate cake" it's hardly a substitute.

Happy Birthday Spam!
Ok, so the 70th anniversary of Spam was last year. But according to associated content:

http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/301668/spam_celebrates_70_year_anniversary.html

If you searched for "Spam 70th anniversary" you may also like "Female Circumcision in the United States".
Figure that one out.

Anyway, the cans are sure to be collectors items, plus in your Emergency Preparedness kit
the best before date is several years into the future.

What Google doesn't want you to see.
Google's just a company, and they have to obey laws, as well as make shareholders happy. So anything Americans aren't supposed to see, they take out of their database and don't return it in search results.

Last I checked, the Canadian db was based on the American one, but it also has to remove anything Canadians aren't supposed to see.

And of course Americans make a big fuss that Google takes out things for China that the Chinese aren't supposed to see. Oddly, they rarely complain about all the sites removed for Americans.

None of this is new, but in an age where taking something out of Google is almost tantamount to removing it from the Internet, it's worth re-considering from time to time.

Our Post Office at Work
The letter carriers for my street randomly deliver peoples' mail to different houses. Sometimes he'll deliver everybody's mail to one house. Sometimes the mail can be found in puddles on the street. Usually we deliver each others' mail ourselves, sending on anything for somebody else that we don't want to keep (like bills).

Today I won the lottery and got mail for me, and only for me (or "occupant"). I did notice though that the mailman parked his SUV directly in front of the fire hydrant. It'll only be there for a couple of hours, but still. If my house burns down because the fire department can't reach the hydrant, I'm writing my mailman a letter...
